Backend Software Engineer

Founding Software Engineer (Backend / Platform) - San Francisco (Hybrid) 

A seed-stage, venture-backed startup building an AI-powered platform that helps fast-growing teams retain context, decisions, and knowledge as they scale are looking for a Backend Engineer to join their team.

What will I be doing: 

• Building and shipping scalable backend and platform systems from the ground up
• Designing and owning core APIs, data models, and infrastructure
• Developing and deploying LLM-powered agents that work with large, complex datasets
• Taking end-to-end ownership of features in a fast-moving, early-stage environment
• Collaborating closely with the founders to shape technical direction and product decisions

What are we looking for:

• 3+ years of backend and/or platform engineering experience
• Strong experience with Python, AWS, SQL databases, and API development
• Someone who is highly autonomous, learns quickly, and thrives in ambiguity
• Comfort working in a startup environment with fast iteration cycles and high ownership
• Bonus points for experience with LLMs, RAG, or agentic frameworks
