About the job

Computer Architect

Acceler8 Talent is partnered with a startup designing hardware platforms optimized for the most advanced AI models, accelerating when new levels of intelligence can be reached. They are building vertically integrated solutions spanning silicon, systems, and software to power the world’s largest training and inference workloads. They are seeking a Computer Architect to help define and deliver high-performance, energy-efficient silicon at the chip and subsystem level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the first generation of product silicon by finalizing architectural details and supporting execution, which may involve kernel and compiler development, logic design, verification, or system software work
  • Translating workload characteristics and customer requirements into hardware features and design goals
  • Producing detailed architectural specifications, models, pseudocode, or executable descriptions of system functions
  • Partnering with micro-architects, RTL designers, verification engineers, and physical design teams to ensure architectures are feasible and efficiently implemented in silicon
  • Working with software and system architects to align silicon design with higher-level system and application considerations
  • Performing performance analysis of architectures using software models, simulation, emulation, or prototyping
  • Supporting the development of pre- and post-silicon test and validation plans

Ideal background:

  • Demonstrated ownership of chip-level or subsystem-level architectural features from specification through to production silicon
  • Proficiency with one or more of SystemVerilog, Python, C/C++, Rust, or Bluespec for modeling, design, or architectural specification
  • Experience producing executable specifications or models to guide hardware implementation
  • Track record of delivering innovative architectural features in production chips and systems in areas such as compute, networking, storage, or machine learning
  • Familiarity with debugging architecture-level issues in collaboration with design, validation, system, and software teams
  • Experience writing firmware or software to validate architectural features at the product level is a strong plus
