Computer Vision Engineer

🚀 Perception Engineer | Autonomous Robotics | San Jose, CA

I’m partnering with a stealth robotics startup building highly autonomous factories designed to turn raw materials into finished goods with significantly less manual labour.

They’re developing an integrated stack across perception, robot learning, simulation, rendering and GPU systems—and hiring a Perception Engineer to own difficult real-world autonomy problems.

You’ll join a small, hands-on team with the opportunity to shape core systems, build from first principles and see your work deployed on physical hardware.

What you’ll work on:

• Building and deploying robust perception systems for autonomous robots.

• Solving challenging edge cases involving sensor variability, difficult environments and real hardware constraints.

• Debugging perception failures and improving reliability across the full pipeline.

• Working across learning and hardware to make perception perform reliably in the real world.

• Implementing core systems in C++ and Python, with scope to develop new approaches.

Who could be a fit?

Engineers who have personally owned production or field-tested perception systems in self-driving or other challenging autonomous environments.

Particularly interested in people with experience across:

• Autonomous vehicles, including advanced development teams.

• Drones, construction, forestry, maritime autonomy or field robotics.

• 3D and visual perception, with strong implementation depth and experience diagnosing real deployment failures.
