About the job

Lead Data Architect

Acceler8 Talent is partnered with a groundbreaking company operating at the intersection of large-scale infrastructure and machine intelligence. This team is building the data and compute backbone for one of the most ambitious projects in the U.S., and they’re seeking a Lead Data Architect to join as one of the earliest technical hires.

This is a rare opportunity to get in at the ground floor, design the data architecture from the ground up, and directly shape how critical infrastructure meets frontier AI systems.

The Role

As Lead Data Architect, you’ll be both builder and leader. Early on, you’ll own hands-on work: designing schemas, building pipelines, and proving out durable data patterns. Over time, you’ll define the hiring roadmap, recruit top talent, and lead a small team to scale the platform.

You’ll be responsible for unifying diverse enterprise data streams — everything from ERP systems and project management feeds to time-series and unstructured documents. The goal: make data discoverable, trusted, and usable so that ML teams and business operators can move faster and make better decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the target data architecture (batch + streaming).
  • Build resilient pipelines from structured and unstructured sources.
  • Deliver trusted datasets and semantic layers for analytics + ML.
  • Instrument flows with lineage, quality checks, and adoption metrics.
  • Act as a self-starter, scoping and shipping projects with business impact.
  • Define hiring vision; grow and mentor a small data team as the platform matures.

About You

  • Strong track record building data platforms and pipelines end-to-end.
  • Product-minded: start with business needs, then select pragmatic technical solutions.
  • Able to navigate messy data environments and bring clarity without over-engineering.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on engineering with long-term architecture.
  • Experience across both structured (databases, APIs) and unstructured (docs, PDFs) data.

Why Join?

This is a generational project at the frontier of energy and AI — offering you the chance to build the foundational data systems that will power one of the most important technology initiatives of our time. You’ll start as a hands-on architect and grow into a technical leader with outsized impact.
