Principal Front-End Engineer | Remote US

We’re hiring a Principal Front-End Engineer to join an early-stage geospatial startup turning real-time simulations and AI-driven data into decision-grade web experiences.

This is a small, elite engineering team building a high-impact TypeScript and React platform where massive spatial and temporal data streams converge. The product is used in high-stakes, time-sensitive environments — clarity, performance, and correctness matter.

The Role

This role sets the front-end technical direction while remaining deeply hands-on.

You’ll architect modular UI systems, establish patterns that scale across teams, and transform dense geospatial and simulation data into clear, performant workflows operators can trust under pressure. The impact is both immediate and long-term: shaping the UI foundation, raising the bar for front-end engineering, and delivering visualization systems that directly influence real-world decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Architect scalable front-end systems and reusable component patterns
• Build high-performance geospatial and data-intensive visualizations
• Define front-end standards, tooling, and best practices across the platform
• Lead execution through technical ownership, code quality, and mentorship
• Partner closely with backend, data, and simulation teams to ship end-to-end features

What We’re Looking For

• Senior-level experience building complex TypeScript / React applications
• Strong instincts for performance, architecture, and maintainability
• Experience working with data-heavy, real-time, or visualization-driven UIs
• Ability to lead by doing — setting direction while shipping meaningful work
• Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with high technical ownership
