Senior Backend Engineer (Python) - US Remote

A Boston based deep-tech startup building AI-driven infrastructure to modernize how low-level software is created, analyzed, and deployed are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team. Backed by leading investors and operating at Series A scale, the team combines AI research with serious systems and compiler expertise.

What will I be doing:

• Build and own Python backend services from design through production
• Design clean, high-performance APIs using FastAPI
• Implement asynchronous, event-driven workflows and stateful systems
• Model and query complex relational, geospatial, and time-based data
• Develop reliable pub/sub and background processing systems
• Deploy and operate containerized services with a focus on stability and observability

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience (Python) 
• Strong API and service design experience in production environments
• Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience building async systems and event-driven workflows
• Comfortable working with Docker and modern deployment pipelines
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a sense of ownership
