🔧 Systems Engineer | GPU & AI Infrastructure

📍 Fremont, CA | On-site, five days per week

I’m hiring a hands-on Systems Engineer for an established business building custom GPU workstations, servers and clusters for AI, scientific computing and research.

With more than three decades in the industry, the company offers technical variety and visible ownership in a smaller engineering team where your work can directly influence products and delivery.

The role

Own hardware NPI, component qualification and system validation, taking platforms from initial bring-up through production readiness.

  • Diagnose Linux, BIOS/firmware, compatibility, thermal and physical fitment issues.
  • Investigate failures, identify root causes and drive corrective actions through retesting.
  • Build and improve supporting Python/Bash tests.
  • Maintain clear validation plans, checklists and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with hardware, firmware, integration and test teams.

What we’re looking for

  • Ideally 2–5 years of relevant experience, although this is flexible. Hands-on capability and ownership matter more than years.
  • Personal ownership of hardware NPI, server validation or component qualification.
  • Practical Linux diagnostics.
  • BIOS/firmware or hardware compatibility investigation experience.
  • Python or Bash tests you have personally built or improved.
  • Examples of taking hardware failures through diagnosis, resolution and verification.

Experience with server motherboards, CPUs, GPUs, memory, PCIe, storage, BMC/IPMI or thermal testing would be particularly relevant.

Why join?

Broad exposure across GPU computing and AI infrastructure, direct collaboration with major hardware partners, meaningful ownership and comprehensive benefits.

Hardware remains the primary focus, with scripting supporting the validation work.
