Account Executive — Custom Computing & AI Infrastructure
Location: Fremont, CA | Full-time, onsite five days per week
Compensation: $65,000–$100,000 base salary plus commission/bonus
About the company
Our client builds custom computing solutions for AI, scientific research, and other demanding workloads. From GPU workstations to servers and clusters, they help customers turn their computing requirements into complete, deployable systems.
They’re looking for an early-career Account Executive who enjoys finding new customers, building relationships, and closing business. If you have a practical understanding of computer hardware and want to develop a career in technical sales, this is an opportunity to take ownership and grow.
The role
You’ll own the full sales cycle for build-to-order computing solutions, from outbound prospecting and inbound enquiries through discovery, proposals, negotiation, and closing.
This is a hunter role. You’ll create opportunities, maintain consistent follow-up, and work with Sales Engineers to connect customer needs with the right technical solution. You’ll also build long-term relationships that generate repeat business.
What you’ll do
- Generate new business through outbound prospecting and lead engagement.
- Qualify inbound enquiries and understand customers’ workloads, computing requirements, budgets, and timelines.
- Own customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.
- Work with Sales Engineers to develop custom quotes and proposals.
- Follow up consistently, address questions, and move opportunities toward a close.
- Coordinate with internal teams on order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about computing technologies, market trends, and competitor offerings.
What you’ll bring
- Ideally, 1–5 years of sales or customer-facing experience, with a strong appetite for prospecting and closing.
- Evidence of personal initiative: creating opportunities, organising follow-up, and delivering results.
- A practical understanding of computer hardware, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, and storage.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical choices in plain language.
- Persistence, curiosity, and a self-directed approach to work.
- Availability to work onsite in Fremont five days per week.
Technical sales and quota-carrying experience are valuable, but adjacent backgrounds, including electronics retail and technical customer service, are welcome. Building your own gaming PC is relevant experience. You don’t need to arrive as an HPC expert; you just need the technical foundation and motivation to learn.
Why join?
- Take ownership of opportunities from first conversation through closing and repeat business.
- Build expertise in custom computing, GPU systems, and AI infrastructure.
- Work closely with Sales Engineers and teams across system integration, testing, and support.
- Make a visible contribution within an established computing business.
- Access benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and additional insurance options.
If you enjoy technology, take initiative, and want to build a career in tech sales, I’d like to hear from you. You don't need to be the finished product; you just need the motivation to learn and grow on the job!
