Engineering Manager – Seed-Stage AI Startup (NYC, On-Site)

A seed-stage AI startup in Manhattan (recent $4M raise, real revenue, rapid growth) on a mission to reinvent accounting with AI agents are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team.

What will I be doing:

• Building, mentoring, and leading a small, high-impact engineering team.
• Designing systems that can scale globally and handle massive throughput.
• Owning delivery across the full stack — backend, frontend, and everything in between.
• Bringing AI into production with LLMs, LangChain, and agent-based workflows.
• Partnering directly with the founders on technical direction and product roadmap.
• Shaping the engineering culture and setting the bar for excellence from day one.

What are we looking for:

• 6+ years of experience shipping products, including time spent leading or managing teams.
• You know how to design and scale modern systems (Python, Node.js, React, Postgres, AWS).
• You’ve hired, coached, and grown engineers into leaders.
• You obsess over solving customer problems, not just writing elegant code.
• Excited to experiment with and apply the latest in LLMs and agent tech.
• You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and take full responsibility for outcomes.
