About the Opportunity
We're working with an early-stage semiconductor startup developing next-generation hardware technologies.
They're looking for a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to build AI-powered design automation systems that solve complex engineering challenges.
This is an opportunity to join a highly technical team, take ownership of challenging projects, and help shape the company's ML infrastructure and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy agentic AI systems to automate complex engineering workflows.
- Integrate AI agents with engineering simulation, CAD, and design tools.
- Develop ML models to accelerate simulations and optimise engineering processes.
- Build reliable ML infrastructure and evaluation frameworks alongside hardware engineers.
What We're Looking For
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong Python, software engineering, and applied ML experience.
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and production ML systems.
- Familiarity with scientific computing, simulations, or CAD/EDA tools.
- Experience with surrogate modelling, GNNs, physics-informed ML, or workflow automation is advantageous.
