About the Role:
We’re seeking our first Staff Product Engineer and Web Lead to shape the technical foundation of our homeowner and contractor portals, internal tools, and AI-powered dashboards.
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you’ll work as both architect and hands-on builder. You’ll define scalable systems, create shared web infrastructure, and ship polished products in close partnership with Product, Design, Backend, AI, and Data teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the architecture and roadmap for web experiences across the platform.
- Build shared component libraries, design systems, routing, state management, and data-visualization frameworks.
- Deliver reliable, high-performance features with cross-functional teams.
- Establish standards for testing, CI/CD, accessibility, observability, performance, and web security.
- Turn AI insights and telemetry into intuitive, data-rich user experiences.
- Mentor engineers and help shape technical culture as the team grows.
- Remain hands-on from architectural decisions through production delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of professional web development experience.
- Ownership of at least one product through a 0 → 1 → scale journey.
- Deep expertise in React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Capable with Python.
- Experience architecting modular front-end platforms and shared component systems.
- Strong knowledge of design systems, application performance, and build optimization.
- Experience with complex APIs and data-rich interfaces; exposure to AI or telemetry products is a plus.
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, accessibility, observability, and modern web security.
- A strong eye for design quality and user experience.
- Excellent communication across product, design, and engineering.
- A builder’s mindset centered on ownership, speed, and production-quality execution.
