Engineering Manager

$180,000-$250,000 + Meaningful Equity



I'm working with a fast-growing AI company building voice and communication agents for some of the world's largest financial institutions.


Their platform automates millions of customer interactions across voice, SMS, WhatsApp, and email, helping banks, lenders, and insurers improve customer engagement, increase recovery rates, and reduce operational costs while maintaining strict compliance standards.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. Not a process manager. Not someone who sits above the code.



You'll lead a high-performing engineering team, partner closely with technical leadership on product and architecture decisions, and continue shipping production code while helping the team scale.


The company is growing rapidly and solving difficult problems across real-time voice AI, enterprise infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and large-scale communication systems.


You'll work on problems such as:

• Scaling engineering teams without slowing execution

• Real-time voice AI and communication infrastructure

• Enterprise-grade reliability, observability, and incident response

• Security, compliance, and regulated financial systems

• Engineering productivity, tooling, and operational excellence

• Hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineers


We're looking for engineers who have:

• Experience leading engineering teams in startup environments

• Successfully scaled engineering teams through periods of rapid growth

• Remained highly hands-on technically while managing people

• Strong backend, infrastructure, or distributed systems experience

• Experience setting performance expectations, coaching engineers, and building high-performing teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A track record of owning outcomes rather than managing processes.




Nice to have:

• Experience with SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks

• Experience in financial services or regulated industries

• Experience leading teams at early-stage startups

• Familiarity with AI, conversational AI, or voice technologies

• Experience scaling engineering organizations from 5→15 or 10→25+



This role is best suited to leaders who enjoy building teams, solving hard technical problems, and operating in fast-moving startup environments.
