Founding Engineer - New York 

An applied AI research lab building a fully autonomous AI investor are looking for Software Engineers to join their team. 

What Will I Be Doing?

• Own and ship meaningful improvements across core AI systems from idea → architecture → production.
• Build and refine Python backend systems that power applied, agentic AI workflows.
• Improve orchestration, evaluation loops, traceability, and overall system intelligence.
• Design systems that break down complex financial questions into structured, auditable data-science processes.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and iteration speed.
• Work closely with a small, high-caliber team to shape technical direction and product evolution.
• Operate in a fast-moving, AI-native development environment while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong software engineering foundation, ideally within high-performance environments.
• Experience building and shipping production systems at scale (Python) 
• Ability to architect systems from first principles.
• High agency, generalist mindset with strong systems thinking.
• Comfort leveraging AI tools without depending on them.
• Experience with applied AI systems or agentic workflows.
• Interest in financial markets or complex real-world systems.
