About the job

San Francisco - Software Engineer

We’re hiring Founding Software Engineers to help rebuild the foundations of InsurTech — a trillion-dollar global industry that’s overdue for a technical reset.

This is a rapidly growing startup already at 7-figure ARR, backed by a 13× oversubscribed Seed round, with a clear path toward Series A. Investors include Founders Fund (Peter Thiel), Emergence Capital, and early backers of OpenAI and Scale AI.

The team is exceptionally strong: alumni from Optiver, DRW, Palantir, and leading AI research labs at Oxford, Cambridge, and ETH Zurich.

Location: Onsite, San Francisco (visa + relocation fully supported)

The Role

As a Founding Engineer, you’ll help design and build the core platform as it scales toward 100× growth.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership — shaping architecture, shipping production systems, and setting the technical foundations the company will scale on for years.

What You’ll Work On

  • Build and scale core backend and AI systems powering the platform
  • Design robust infrastructure for high-throughput, mission-critical workflows
  • Apply ML and automation to modernize legacy insurance processes
  • Work closely with founders on architecture, roadmap, and technical direction
  • Lay down engineering standards and culture as one of the earliest hires

Who This Is For

  • Strong backend or AI engineers excited by ownership and ambiguity
  • Engineers who want to build from first principles in a complex domain
  • People motivated by scale, impact, and long-term company building
  • Comfortable working onsite with a small, elite team

Why This Role

  • Founding-level impact in a massive, regulated industry
  • Real revenue, real customers, and strong investor conviction
  • Top-quartile compensation: $150k–$250k + meaningful founding equity
  • Full support: visa sponsorship, relocation, meals, and productivity tools covered
