Quantitative Researcher — Low-Latency Systems & Trading

💡 What if your next role let you build trading systems where C++, Rust and operating-system performance directly determine how quickly trades execute — with trading decisions happening on a single chip?

🚀 Our client — an early-stage trading technology startup founded by engineers from elite quantitative trading firms — is hiring a Quantitative Researcher / Systems Engineer.

They're building an entirely new exchange architecture, combining ultra-low-latency trading, performance-critical software and custom hardware to eliminate traditional network bottlenecks.

The role:

✅ Build and optimise performance-critical production systems using C++ and Rust

✅ Work on low-level systems programming across memory, concurrency, networking and OS interactions

✅ Develop research infrastructure for short-horizon trading strategies and predictive models

✅ Optimise systems for extreme latency, throughput and computational constraints

✅ Own research and engineering workflows from development through production deployment

✅ Collaborate with hardware engineers to push trading performance beyond traditional software limits

Why join?

⚡ Work on cutting-edge low-latency systems where microseconds matter

🧠 Join a highly technical founding team with backgrounds in elite quantitative trading and hardware engineering

⚙️ Work across C++, Rust, operating systems, quantitative research and hardware/software co-design

🚀 Join at an early stage with significant technical ownership

💻 Build greenfield infrastructure rather than maintaining legacy trading systems

📈 Help develop an entirely new approach to electronic trading and exchange infrastructure

A traditional quantitative research background isn't essential. We're particularly interested in exceptional C++ / Rust systems engineers who have built performance-critical production software and understand OS fundamentals.
